My very best reward.

Charles Dickens mentioned in his novel "A tales of two Cities", starting with the words "it is the best of times; it is also the worst of times".
I always found my very best reward in my worst of times:
1. Love and Grace when I found I was the very worst sinner
2. Love and Blessings when I found I was not worthy of them
